Quality Coaching Opportunities for High Quality Coaches Surrey Futures Programme 2009/10
All applications to be sent via email: Fiona.brown@pga.org.uk , closing date 1st September 2009 After a successful first year of coaching the Surrey Golf Partnership (SGP) are seeking applications from proactive and enthusiastic coaches who wish to be a part of the Surrey Futures training programme. A number of roles are on offer: Surrey Futures Coach:- must be a fully qualified PGA professional, who can demonstrate their ability to inspire young people and maximise their golfing potential. Applicants must be able to demonstrate how they have developed themselves as coach since qualifying. You must be a team player.
Assistant Surrey Futures Coach:- this would ideally suit a trainee or newly qualified professional who is proactive and looking for quality coaching experience and the opportunity to assistant experienced, highly motivated coaches.
Disability Coach:- 10% of funding is ring fenced for young golfers with disabilities, these young people may be included in the main programme or signposted to one of the (SGP) Feel Inspired, Get Golfing Centres.
Venue Manager:- This is a volunteer position and would be suitable for someone wishing to give something back to the game. All volunteers must undergo a CRB check, attend a Safeguarding and protection children workshop and ideally have completed or willing to work towards UKCC, Level 1 Certificate in Golf Coaching.

Further Background Information The Surrey Futures programme is a Sport England / England Golf National Training Initiative The National Training Initiative will deliver the following key outcomes: 1. Enhancing the quality of coaching across the development spectrum. 2. Enhancing the quality of the players developing in the club network which will ensure that better quality players emerge into the full county ranks. 3. Identifying the best coaches within the county so that young players and their parents can be signposted to these coaches if they do not have appropriate coaching provision within their locality. 4. More youngsters retained in the sport leading to increased participation levels for junior players as well as in the adult ranks. 5. To increase the number of people involved in coaching at all levels of the development system. 6. To develop existing coaches through specific training programmes and individualised development opportunities.
