| SGP appoint James Lockrose |
Surrey Golf Partnership appoint James Lockrose as Development Officer
The Surrey Golf Partnership (SGP) is pleased to announce the appointment of James Lockrose to the part time position of County Development Officer.
"We are very fortunate to have attracted somebody of James''s experience to work alongside the Surrey club secretaries and professionals, coaches and the many volunteers to strengthen Men''s, Ladies and all Junior Golf" says John Davies SGP Chairman and Surrey County Golf Union Secretary.
James is predominantly based at Worplesdon Golf Club where he is a PGA coach. He is a Surrey County Coach working with the Ladies Squads and Junior Elite Girls Squads. He is also currently teaching both boys and girls squads within Surrey Futures Development at Royal Mid Surrey, Burhill and Hoebridge Golf Centre. He has worked with Ladies on the European Tour and is well respected.
James has an MSc in Enhancing and Maintaining Sports Performance and has been undertaking a PhD in Golf Psychology for the past four years, he also lectures part-time at University of Portsmouth and has also presented at BASES National Conference. James has actively been developing his teaching experience and knowledge through various PGA, BASES, BPS seminars and courses as well as working alongside world class coaches and consultants on a daily basis. He frequently works in conjunction with sports therapists, biomechanists, physiologists and psychologists who consult at the highest level in world golf.
James is a member of the Steering Committee of the Surrey County Golf Partnership and enjoys the task of working with Junior Organisers, Secretaries, and dedicated volunteers.
